         Hi!    I'm Valerie Corr.

I have been a professor of Fashion

Design here at FIT since 1981. I 

have designed this website to

acquaint you with, and to display

the work of the more creative and

talented students from my classes.

   

        I have a strong background in Fashion Design,

 as a working designer, design consultant and finally

 as  a designer/manufacturer under my own label,

"Valerie".

       With a strong background in Sports Wear, Active

Sportswear and the use of Knit & Woven fabrics, I

have been enthusiastic to share my knowledge by

teaching sewing, draping and patternmaking  in a

 variety of classes and to serve as a former Evening

Advisor Student for 9 years, acquainting Future

Designers with the realities of the market place.

Pleated, Contrast-colored inserts provide Design Interest and coordinate with bias-trimmed sleeves & Flounce.

This Multi-Gored Princess Line is enhanced with Godets and a crinoline slip for added Drama.

A Ruffled & Blousoned Jacket Muslin is the beginning of a Silk-Linen Suit for the Sustainability Fashion Show.

A Lovely Shaped Jacket Muslin that would enhance most figures is another Sustainability Fashion Show Suit beginning.

The Classic, Sporty lines of this Jacket Muslin provides the start of a Third Sustainability Fashion Show Entry.

This Dress Poofed Dress is also a Princess Line Design.

We also do muslins in Patternmaking class to test our Flat Pattern Designs. Here is a creative Junior dress with the Designer.

A lot of work goes into making any garment. Here a student is laying out fabric for her Suit Jacket Lining.

Another Student cheerfully spends countless hours sewing her Jacket.
