The Office of Communications and External Relations in partnership with The Technology Development Team (TDT) will be offering training on WebPages, the Content Management System that supports FIT's new website starting in the Fall 2009 semester. WebPages Training consists of the following five sessions:


1. Introduction and Basic Editing (Required for 2, 3)
2. Images and Editing
3. Photoediting for WebPages
4. Videoediting for Webpages
5. Approver Training, for supervisors only.

      Introduction and Basic Editing

(     Prerequisite for all other training session and for access to WebPages): An introduction to policies, best practices, basics of navigation, how to add, edit, publish and submit web pages to workflow. 2 hours.

Images and Galleries: Learn how to create and place dynamic image galleries on your website to highlight student work, events, and classroom activities. 60 minutes

      Photo editing for Webpages:        

      Learn how to resize and crop photos in Photoshop for use specifically in the new website with tips on creating thumbnails and web optimization. 60 minutes.

 

 
 Wednesday, December 9th, 2-3pm

      The Basics of Video Editing

      Attend Vincent Sassone's workshop, Final Cut Express: The Basics of Video Editing.

Approver training: ONLY chairs, directors, and VPs are eligible. A short session to familiarize chairs, directors, and VPs only on how to preview web pages and approve them for publication as part of workflow. Intro not required.
