The Fashion Institute of Technology is located on West 27th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues. This midtown location, the center of the fashion industries, is easily reached by every subway, major railroad line, and bus route in the city.

By Plane:

If you are traveling to New York City by plane, local airports include Newark, La Guardia and JFK.

By Bus:

The main bus terminal in NYC is the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 42nd Street and 8th Avenue. It is within walking distance of FIT.

By Train:

There are two major train stations in New York City. Metro North trains operate out of Grand Central Station, located at 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue (East Side).  Amtrack operates out of Penn Station, located at 7th Avenue and 32nd Street, also within walking distance of FIT.

By Bus and Subway:

The nearest subway station is the 28th Street stop on the #1 train (7th Avenue line). If you take the C or E train on the 8th Avenue line, the 23rd Street station is just a few blocks away. The # 10 bus and #20 bus run downtown on 7th Avenue and the #20 bus runs uptown on 8th Avenue. Taxis in NYC are plentiful, but expensive.
