Final Cut Express:  The Basics of Video Editing
  • Vincent Sassone, instructor

  • 4 hours, 2 sessions over 2 consecutive weeks

  • Training will be offered in two 2-hour sessions on consecutive Tuesdays or  Thursdays each month. Both sessions must be taken in the same month.

More people are using videos to communicate, demonstrate, educate, influence, and market their ideas, products and processes, broadcasting them across the web and on mobile devices, in classrooms, boardrooms and auditoriums.

With the launch of FIT's new website and the college's recent association with iTunes U, the need for short, edited video presentations will grow. To accommodate this need, the Technology Development Team will offer basic training in Final Cut Express to faculty and staff beginning Fall of 2009 in B 915.

You will learn how to:

-navigate Final Cut Express
-import and organize media
-compose video on a timeline
-create basic transitions and titles
-add basic sound effects and music
-output for the web and other formats
