Instructional Technology Support

FIT offers two possible ways to use the web to support your courses.

1) The FIT Portal area for your Courses (also called "Course Studio") at www.myfit.fitnyc.edu

2) ANGEL, a course management system at
fitnyc.sln.suny.edu

Watch this video to help you decide what's right for you and to learn how to avoid confusion for your students.

Which One Should You Use?

The FIT Portal: Course Studio is part of MyFIT (the FIT portal, the "My Courses" tab.  It is a communication tool for you and your students to send email, make announcements, and share course documents (syllabus, textbook requirements, readings, images, assignments).  Student names are loaded automatically every semester but faculty must manually load course information.

The Angel Course Management System is preferred if you are interested in doing anything above posting basic documents and/or images for your students. ANGEL allows transfer of materials from one semester to another, it has grade-book, a more sophisticated discussion forum, and other instructional functions. Angel course shells can be requested at http://www3.fitnyc.edu/cet/angel.htm, select "Ordering a Course Shell." All fully online courses at FIT are taught using ANGEL.

Faculty can select to link their courses in MYFIT's Course Studio directly to the Angel login page using the edit feature next to each course selection (see the video above).
