Inspirational Quote: "Corporations do not
intentionally set out to do the wrong thing. Often, what
originally appears to be a great choice has unforeseen
consequences. Once discovered, an organization with
sustainable ideals will not ignore them. Initially, they
will limit the damage they cause. Meanwhile, they will
research and put more eco-efficient materials and methods to
use. This will continue until the safest possible and most
profitable ways for satisfying consumers, the corporation,
the workers, our society and planet are found and
implemented." |

Professional Studies’ Color Specialist certificate program.
Prof. Kalivas has served as chairperson and vice chair of
Inter-Society Color Council (ISCC) Interest Group III: Art,

most recent presentation, Getting Brighter: Coloring More
Sustainably, at the Inter-Society Color Council (ISCC)
and the Canadian National Committee of the Commission
Internationale de l’Eclairage (CNC/CIE) joint Symposium held
in Ottawa, Canada.
Prof. Kalivas serves as an appointed member of the
Collegewide Committee on Diversity, fully dedicated to their
mission . . . “to encourage and facilitate diversity and a
climate of openness, understanding and inclusion at FIT.” She
is also deeply involved with concerned others as a member of
the FIT Sustainability Group. Currently they are planning
for an upcoming conference scheduled for April of 2007 to
mark FIT’s commitment to making sustainability the new
cultural paradigm for the college.
