Educational Background:

I graduated from the City College of New York with a Bachelor of Business degree in June 1950. This was followed by two years of service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After discharge from the service I returned to the City College of New York and was granted a Masters degree in 1953.

After receiving the degree I began working for a company called Style Service Inc., a manufacturer of women’s overcoats. I started as a salesman and then became the buyer of overcoat fabrics. When that firm went out of business I was began work as a teacher of textiles in the New York city high school system. In my early teaching years I co-authored two high school textbooks, Textile Workbook and Basic Retailing and Distribution. In 1973 I began work as an Adjunct Professor at Fashion Institute in the Textile Development and Marketing department.
