As the Fabric Manager for a 1.8 billion
brand, I research the world for the best fabric qualities
from fiber up. I am currently working on all classifications
from the premium European designer fabrics, to the most
basic core volume products of Asia. My focus is to bring
vertical, best practices and strategically develop the best
concepts to present to my company and market to the
customer.
I have worked with approximately 500
mills globally, with contacts in nearly all countries and
fabric at every price point and fiber content. This
experience has taken me around the world to work with
industrial laundries on wet and dry processing, textile
mills to develop fabric, and consult agents to develop the
best quality and most saleable options. This has taken me to
key destinations including: Japan, China, Korea, Thailand,
Indonesia, Taiwan, Italy, France, England, Austria, Ireland,
and Germany.
As a leader of my company, another key
responsibility is to professionally develop the careers of
the 5 associates that work on my team helping them to grow
into industry leaders. Textiles are a fascinating sector of
the retail industry and as the Fabric Manager it enables me
to be at the forefront of technology as a technical expert
as well as to creatively develop and market concepts to
bring forward new ideas of the future. |
