What are textiles? They are everything from the denim used to make your favorite brand of jeans, to the sheets, drapes, and furnishings that make a house a home, to the high-tech outerwear that keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. They are the fabrics—traditional and nontraditional—that are essential to the appeal and performance of an infinite range of products, whether it's the cotton of a T-shirt or the recycled plastic of a high-performance carpet. And they are an increasingly global enterprise, with emerging markets developing in nearly every corner of the world. FIT's Associate in Applied Science and Bachelor of Science degree programs in Textile Development and Marketing educate and prepare you for a range of demanding careers in this ever-evolving, innovative field.
