A Message From Our Volunteer Coordinator

“The purpose of the SVCS program is to assist our students
in serving the community in which they live and the school
in which they learn. SVCS will help them become the
person they envision being and enable them to fulfill
their volunteer /community service ambitions, ultimately,
to achieve their goals.”

Aiding Senior Citizens
Volunteer at nursing homes, deliver meals, or visit and entertain senior citizens.

Apparel
Design costumes for theatrical organizations, sew or mend garments, or showcase your own designs.

Art
Participate in art contests, be an active Art Start assistant, or help children and seniors enjoy and create.

Children
Coach a team sport or be a mentor.

Education
Tutor students of all ages – from helping children with homework, to assisting an adult in receiving a G.E.D.

Fashion
Help with the shows at Fashion Week or obtain a volunteer position in the fashion industry.

Health
Care for and spend time with people affected by HIV and AIDS, breast cancer, or disabilities.

Helping the Homeless
Be a soup kitchen volunteer or donate clothing.

Holiday Events
Help others enjoy the holidays by making cards, donating food or toys, or work at a holiday-themed party.

Modeling
Enjoy various makeover opportunities by participating in hair shows or the launching of beauty products.

Partners In Learning
In its simplest form is students-mentoring-students and has been established to assist students with disabilities gain self-reliance and self-sufficiency in their lives. Some students confront life without the necessary tools to perform daily tasks and can find ordinary life overwhelming.

Pet Care
Spend time working with an animal shelter or walk a dog.
