Residence Halls
The residence halls play an integral role in the development
of FIT students. As members of a community, they enable students
to see their peers not only in an academic setting, but also
in a living/learning environment. The residence halls are a focal
point for many social activities such as barbeques, dances,
and meetings. In addition to the social experiences, The
Department of Residential Life provides students with
diverse educational opportunities. Each semester, an
extensive orientation is presented for all new residents.
Four on-campus residence halls house approximately 1217
students on 27th Street and 1100 students in Kaufman Hall. The Residence Life staff
is on hand to assist students and help them adjust to
college life and New York City. Housing is on a priority
basis, and help in finding off-campus housing is available.
