HOUSING WITHDRAWAL/CANCELLATION FORM

This form must be completed to cancel your Housing Contract. Withdrawal form will not be processed until this form is submitted. I understand that I will be charged for late cancellation (see Residence Hall Refund Policy) and that failure or late submission may result in delays in registration or cancellation of classes. PLEASE NOTE: Residents who have checked in must complete the withdrawal form, vacate their room and return their key(s) and ID before a refund is processed. FIT Residence Hall Refund Policy: 

According to the Residential Life Contract, students will be liable for any financial penalties incurred as a result of terminating your contract. No Refunds for recess housing.

New/entering students who submit a completed withdrawal form on or before their housing payment due date will be refunded 100% minus Resident Association Fee.

FALL: $300.00 charge if withdrawal is submitted to the Residential Life Office prior to: August 1st

SPRING: $300.00 charge if withdrawal is submitted to the Residential Life Office prior to: January 1st

Subsequent withdrawals will be subject to the refund schedule below*:

 

Current/Returning FIT students must reapply for housing and will be required to pay a $300.00 non-refundable fee upon submission of the application. Current/Returning students who submit a withdrawal form prior to August 1st (fall)/January 1st (spring) will receive a full refund minus the $300.00 non-refundable application fee. 

Subsequent withdrawals will be subject to the refund schedule below*:

* 1st week of classes: Refund 75% (charge 25%) of total room charges

*2nd week of classes: Refund of 50% (charge of 50%) of total room charges

*3rd week of classes: Refund of 25% (charge of 75%) of total room charges

* 4th week of classes: No refund

Students accepted after August 1st (fall) or January 1st (spring) are required to submit payment in full.

 

Room portion: Refunds reflected above are based on cost for total room charges.

Meal portion: Food service refunds are calculated on a weekly basis (week ending Wednesday 5:00pm). Declining balance dollars are non-refundable.

Residents occupying a space will be charged based on refund policy until all possessions are removed and key/ID are returned to the Residential Life Office. Damage or other charges may apply.
