Computer Placement Test

for Fall 2006
 

Entering AAS Students in Production Management and Fashion

Congratulations on your acceptance to FIT, as an entering two year AAS degree student in Production Management or Fashion Merchandising Management:

• You will be pre-registered in MG 152, which is a basic computer applications course.

• If you have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office computer applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), we suggest that you take a placement test to determine if you should be enrolled in MG152 - Computer Software Applications, or MG153 - Excel for Business.

• Should you score 75% or higher on the placement test, you will place out of MG152.  Then you may register for MG 153 instead of MG152.

• Exemption from the test MG 153 will be approved by the Production Management Department only upon proof of completion of a basic computer applications course at another accredited institution and a grade of C or better.  Please contact Professor Schorr by email at Aaron_Schorr@fitnyc.edu.

• If you choose to take the computer placement test, please go to the FIT Testing Center’s website at www.fitnyc.edu/placementtests  to make an appointment.

• Bring a photo ID and your FIT student ID number, which begins with the @ symbol, when you come to the test.

• You will be billed $25.00 on your student account for this test.  Do not bring payment to the test.
