About the Production
Management
The program's curricula incorporate new technologies such as:
-
Computer-aided design (CAD)
-
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
-
Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAM) programs
Inside the classrooms, faculty make use of interactive learning through
online resources and software as well as keeping current with new trends and
standards used in the industry. Since production today incorporates
facilities from around the world, the program also includes a foreign language
requirement in its curriculum to give students the ability to work with
companies in foreign countries.
Hands-on, Industry Experience
An FIT education
prepares students to graduate directly from the classroom into the workplace.
This is particularly true with the Production Management department whose
faculty is comprised of experts working in the production industry and whose
students interact directly with companies in the field through class tours and
internships.
Students in both the
associate and bachelor's degree programs have the opportunity to put the skills
and knowledge they've gained in the classroom to immediate use while interning
with a company such as a label manufacturer, logistics, and distribution center,
importer/exporter, software supplier, or manufacturer of sewn products, home
furnishings, or toys. During these internships and in the classroom,
students work hands-on in virtually every aspect of production and have access
to the most advanced computer programs and systems. Return to top |
