Technical Designers

"Responsibilities of technical designers are focused on post-adoption product development process.  Technical designers may perfect the fit of new styles, supervise the development of production patterns, grade patterns, develop style and quality specifications, and assist with detailed costing.  Technical designers work with sample makers, pattern makers, merchandisers, designers, cutting room supervisors, production sourcing specialist, and contractors.  They are responsible for communication of technical information and verification of measurements, patterns, materials usage, and assembly methods.  They approve samples, negotiate changes, and work with vendors.  Technical design is sometimes a senior-level position."
