"Production sourcing specialist determine the most cost-effective vendors of production given quality standards and time constraints.  They evaluate sourcing options including domestic and foreign.  They assess locations, vendors, and factory capabilities.  They negotiate agreements with vendors, contractors, and international agents related to prices, lead times, and minimums.  They place orders and make arrangements for an ongoing supply of production capacity.  Sourcing specialists work within international trade regulations, do the paperwork, work with the Customs Service for importing and exporting goods, and monitor factory safety and social responsibility."
