Production Manager
"Production
managers manage the production of styles. They are
primarily concerned with controlling production costs,
managing production capacity, increased productivity,
maintaining a smooth work flow, and meeting production
deadlines. They focus on simplifying operations,
reducing throughput time, and providing appropriate
equipment and trained operators. Production Managers'
primary concern are produce-ability with available equipment
and operator skills while meeting quality standards and
production deadlines.
Production
managers are often involved in acquisition of new equipment.
Capital investment in equipment has a long-term impact on
finished products. Production management involves
comparisons of available and new equipment relative to
product quality, ease and cost of operation, and rate of
output. Production managers may also manage the
sourcing of products with contactors. They transmit
markers and production information. They also might
work with agents and custom officials involved in
international trade."
