Hands-On, Industry Experience
The program prepares you to move directly from
classroom to career. At FIT, you gain valuable real-world experience
through:

Industry Project
Working in a small group, you'll develop a comprehensive business plan for a
manufacturing company that includes: marketing and merchandising, a line plan,
sourcing of facilities, production allocations, scheduling, costing, quality
specifications, and financial strategies and statements. The project will
include company policies, supporting documentation, and proposed strategies for
meeting the project's objectives.
Program Highlights
The program offers two degrees: an Associate in Applied Science and a Bachelor
of Science. All students complete the associate's program in their major
area of study and the liberal arts, and may then choose to go on to the two-year
bachelor's program. Highlights include:
- Advanced computer applications
- Focus on cost, sourcing, and efficiency
- Concentrated study in the sewn products manufacturing process
- Core liberal arts curriculum to develop critical thinking, communication
skills, and a global perspective.
Career Opportunities
FIT reports a nearly ninety percent graduate
placement rate, and many internships result in full-time offers.
You'll put the skills and knowledge you acquire

software suppliers, and manufacturers of sewn products, home furnishings, and
