New Jersey Packaging
Executives Club/Smith Design Student Scholarship
Packaging Design student,
Eling Lee ('08) design was selected as one of the New Jersey
Packaging Executives Club (NJPEC) Smith Design Student
Scholarship recipients. The official announcement will
be made at the May 24 NJPEC Annual Scholarship Awards Dinner
and Presentation and Eling's work will be displayed on their
website, smithdesign.com.
Cosmetics Industry Buyers
and Suppliers (CIBS)
Packaging Design student
Diana Luistro was the recipient of the CIBS Student
Scholarship. The scholarship award was received at the
2007 CIBS Scholarship luncheon at Gallagher's in New York.
Paperboard Packaging
Council (PPC) Student Design Competition
The Packaging Design program
is participating for the second year in the Paperboard Packaging
Council (PPC) Student Design Competition to be judged early
Fall. The exciting competition provides the students with
the opportunity to compete nationally on innovative
paperboard packaging design solutions. Last year, a team of
junior Packaging Design students received second place in
this competition and were funded to attend the awards
luncheon in Chicago at the PackExpo.
Packaging Design Students
Conduct Consumer Research
Students
in Advanced Packaging Design II completed their second
intensive focus group to help with research for
site-concepts and brand designs. Local high school
students volunteered to assist as focus group member for a
brand targeted to their demographic.
