Club Charter:

To provide a venue for extra-curricular activities for students in the Packaging Design Department and for students interested in packaging design to learn about the profession and related industry topics.

To foster sharing/mentoring among students in the BFA program and those in different design disciplines.

The Packaging Design Club has participated in activities for Community Service and Fund Raising in order to fulfill club requirements set by Student Life and FITSA.

  • blood drive

  • gift wrap for Bailey House

  • breast cancer walk, MS walk

  • “friends” letter-writing program through FITSA

  • Fund Raising:

  • t-shirt sales (designed and printed by club members)

  • candy sales

  • bake sales

  • raffles

  • flea market

  • Weekly Club Meetings

  • Pizza Parties for lunch meetings

  • Presentations/Guest Speakers:

  • Robert Hanlon – Alston + Bird, LLC: intellectual property (IP) law - issues regarding registration, trademark, copyright in creative industries. (Fall 2002, 2004)

Special Activities:

  • Coordinated “shoot” days with Photography Club to shoot Senior work for portfolio during Winterim and on Saturdays in early Spring semester

Club Trips:

  • Attended GlobalShop, Las Vegas in March 2007

  • 20 Seniors and two faculty to attend international trade show exhibiting the newest developments in retail display, fixtures, environments and packaging design for a diverse array of retail channels.
