Q: After I login, I'm being asked to log in again to access certain FIT sites
such as the college phone directory and InsideFIT. Can this be fixed?
A: Currently, in order for single sign on to work properly you should be
using IE 6+ and the proper setting within IE need to be set as follows:
1. Configure the integrated login behavior:
a.
Select Tools -> Internet Options. b.
From the Security tab click Custom Level. c.
Scroll down to the Logon section in the Security Settings dialog, and select
either Automatic... or Prompt... depending on the functionality you require.
Note:
If the Trusted Sites option was selected in step 1 above, then the user will
never be prompted to enter user name and password information.
2. If the client is version 6 of Internet Explorer then you need to configure
the Integrated Windows login. To do this:
a. Select Tools -> Internet Options. b.
From the Advanced tab, check Enable Integrated Windows Login. c.
Restart the computer for the change to take effect.
IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT LOGGING IN:
If you are asked to login when accessing certain FIT sites
such as the college phone directory or InsideFIT, please use the following
formats depend on the web browser that you are using. If
you accessing InsideFIT directly, please point your browser to
http://insidefit.fitnyc.edu. If
you are using the recommended browser, Internet Explorer, and you are
presented with 3 boxes requiring USERNAME, PASSWORD and DOMAIN
NAME, please enter your username and password in their respective boxes,
then enter "FITSUNY" in the domain name box. When
using browsers other than Internet Explorer (Firefox, Safari, Mozillia,
Netscape, etc..) please use "FITSUNY\firstname_lastname" in the
USERNAME box. For example, the above user Jane Doe, should login as "FITSUNY\JANE_DOE",
without the quotes if presented with a login dialog box while, using Internet
Explorer. Some browsers might try to insert the
DOMAIN NAME in front of the USERNAME for you. Please be aware,
that quite often, the browser may append the wrong DOMAIN NAME and
you will need to manual change it to "FITSUNY" if this occurs.

Email
Q. How do I access the folders I have created in Imail through the MyFIT email
client? A: In the MyFIT email client,
click on Subscribe in the Folders section on the left. On the following screen,
you will see all of the folders that you have created in Imail. Unsubscribed
folders (folders not appearing in MyFIT) are marked with a "P". To subscribe to
a particular folder, click on it and the "P" will be removed and it will appear
in your folder list in the MyFIT email client. Click Done when you are finished.
Q.
My email channel does not seem to be working. How can I fix this? A:
This usually means that your email password and your portal (MyFIT) password are
not in 'sync'. This rarely happens for various reasons.
You can try to fix it yourself by going to
http://passReset.fitnyc.edu and
resetting your pw, then wait 5 -10 minutes before re-logging into the portal (http://MyFIT.fitnyc.edu)
to check your mail channel.
Or you could call 'IT for FIT' customer service (212-217-HELP) and ask that they
reset it for you. back to top
