| Here
& There |
This
venerable forecast service reports on trends in a funky, fresh
way that incorporates European high fashion into the American
sportswear sensibility. Separate items present color,
fabrications and silhouettes, including flats. CD-ROMs provide
extensive coverage of European runway shows, and shopping
guides provide direction to the most influential vendors in
several important cities. The service provides excellent
technical flats and an in depth comparison of European and
American runway shows.
Current Here & There Forecasts that have ‘Collections
Compared’ in their title are not a season behind, but rather
use photos from the last shows before they were printed and descriptions
of the current trends in stores now to forecast future
trends. All Here & There forecasts were merged into
Doneger Creative Services beginning with Spring/Summer 2009.
|
| The
Color Association |
The
Color Association is the oldest trend
organization in the US. It issues a range of color
forecasts two years ahead of a selling season, publishes
newsletters, and also provides trend consultations and educational seminars.
|
| Doneger Creative Services |
This
large, mass-market-oriented service was developed from Doneger’s
successful buying office and has since absorbed many older
forecasting services such as The Fashion Service and Pat
Tunsky Color. This service provides four seasons of color
(Spring/Summer, Transition, Fall/Winter and Holiday/Early
Spring) for use in the men’s, women’s and children’s markets.
Design Elements books cover runway shows, fabrics and
silhouettes for both men’s and women’s wear and a Forecast
book (women’s only) presents themes in combination with more
fabrics and silhouettes. Both sets of books are published
twice a year.
Here & There was merged into Doneger beginning with
Spring/Summer 2009; its color and fabric forecasts are now
published as Color Concept and Fabric Report, and Doneger's
own forecasts as Color Workshop, Design Concept, and Design
Workshop.

Peclers Paris |
This forecast service
offers a middle point of view between the more fashion-forward
European market and a matter-of-fact mass market presentation.
The Futur(s)
book forecasts universal design themes for items as diverse as
interiors and home products to automobiles and appliances with
swatches and photographs of materials and furnishing objects.
It includes a CD Rom and is published once a year. The Kids
2-12 books cover all aspects of young childrenswear. These
books provide themes illustrated with silhouettes,
photographs, swatches and color. They are published twice a
year.
|
| Knit! Alert |
This service
presents attractively arranged flats, silhouettes, runway
photos and fabric samples classified into four thematic
groups and keyed to Pantone color palettes. A CD Rom is
included with each forecast, containing files that may be
manipulated in Photoshop or Illustrator. It is published
twice a year.
|
| Style
Sight |
This
service reports on the New York, London, Milan and Paris
runway collections by presenting the images divided by item
classification. They consist of 23 classification books for
women’s wear and 11 for menswear. These include such hard to
find topics as lingerie, outerwear, and swimwear, but also
including specialty classifications such as embellishments and
print graphics. The Style Sight forecasts are not available
in print format after Spring/Summer 2006.

accessories. The Homeworks forecasts were discontinued after Fall/Winter 2007/2008. |
| Fast

style reporting from influential cities around the world.

and street photographs from such cities as London, Barcelona,
Paris, Miami, New York, and Los Angeles. The Fast Forward
forecasts were discontinued after Spring/Summer 2007.
|
| Cotton
Incorporated |
This forecast service is presented by the Cotton
Incorporated organization, and includes their trademark
fresh clear color, arranged in themes with mood pages and
fabrication ideas. While they primarily present women’s

Most
Forecasts will use their home-made color swatches, feeling that it
is the best way to convey their themes. If you have Pantone
swatches, remember to match up the colors not the numbers.
