DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI RELATIONS
The Educational Foundation for the Fashion Industries (EFFI)
seeks applicants for the position of Director of Alumni
Relations. Reporting to the Vice President for
Institutional Advancement, the Director will be a
creative self-starter with strong leadership and
communication skills. The Director will develop programs
and create close relationships between the college and
its 40,000 plus alumni.
The Director will plan and coordinate a
variety of alumni programs including gatherings, special
events, on-campus activities, and off-campus events for
regional alumni chapters. The successful candidate will
assess the alumni relations area’s needs and priorities,
evaluate the effectiveness of programs, and recommend
necessary changes.
Responsibilities include but are not
limited to:

Develop a plan to increase alumni
participation in FIT activities.

Foster relationships with alumni to
increase volunteer participation and financial
support.

Act as the liaison for alumni and
various college departments.

Prepare reports and analyses setting
forth the area’s progress.

Provide budgetary recommendations.

Oversee the preparation of
publications, informational materials, and other
communications to further the area’s objectives.

Respond to requests for information
from alumni.

Develop programs that will
successfully impact the Institutional Advancement
Strategic Plan.

Develop the area’s annual strategic
plan.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s
degree, plus a minimum of five years experience in
institutional advancement or a related field. Must enjoy
being part of a highly motivated, dynamic fundraising
team and capable of motivating a diverse group of
constituents. Must be a self-starter, with a strong work
ethic and excellent organizational, communication,
interpersonal and computer skills.
