WHY ARE
WE GOING TO ISRAEL?
The course "IN492
International Trade Practicum" travels every winter to a country to
observe its fashion industries. We have selected Israel as our 2007
destination because, with a population of 6 million people --smaller
than the population of Brooklyn and Queens, and with less land
than New Jersey-- Israel and its people have historically played an
important role in the apparel and textiles industries. Recognized as the
Middle East's fashion business center, Israel's fashion style blends the
modern and the ancient worlds.
In this
trip, we will visit shopping malls, apparel and
jewelry factories, trade associations, government
agencies, and historical sites. This class is open
to all matriculated and non-matriculated students.
