Voice Mail and Telephone FAQs
IT for FIT hopes that you find this quick reference helpful.

  1. To change a message:
    1. Enter Voice Mail (7-8888 etc.)
    2. Enter Option 4 – Personal Options
    3. In Personal Options, enter option 3 –Greetings, you can change personal greeting or add a temporary absence greeting.

  2. To change your password:
    1. Enter Voice Mail
    2. Enter Option 4 – Personal Options
    3. In personal Options, enter option 2 – to change password press 1, follow the instructions

  3. Remote access to Voice Mail:
    1. Dial 7-8888 (From home: 212-217-8888)
    2. When prompted, hit *
    3. Enter your phone number, example: 7-1234, you will then enter your password and retrieve your messages

  4. To skip a message: (not delete)
    1. While listening to your messages, hit the pound key (#)

  5. To skip and delete a message:
    1. While listening to your message, hit the number 3 twice
    2. Hit the 7 key to delete

  6. To Transfer a Call
    1. After conversing, ask party to hold
    2. Press TRF.
    3. Receive interrupted dial tone
    4. The LCD displays: XFR
    5. Dial destination station’s extension, hang up or wait for answer.
    6. If transferring party hangs up, that station’s number appears in the center of recipient’s display.

  7. Last Number Redial
    1. To recall the last five (5) numbers dialed .
    2. Press LNR/SPD key/button.
    3. Receive dial tone.
    4. Press *. Outside or internal station is automatically redialed.

  8. Conference Calls
    1. With call in progress, ask party to hold.
    2. Press TRF key/button, receive interrupted dial tone.
    3. Dial desired number.
    4. After call is answered, press CNF.
    5. CNF LED lights.
    6. The LCD displays: CNF
    7. Three-way conference is established.
    8. If one party hangs up, the other two remain connected. CNF LED goes out
