Microsoft Campus Agreement
Office Professional Home Use

The Fashion Institute of Technology and Microsoft have entered into an agreement that provides for the use of specifically licensed Microsoft products on home computers.  The following questions and answers will provide you with the information necessary for obtaining Microsoft software for home use.

How do I qualify for this agreement between Microsoft and FIT?

·         You must be an active employee of the college.  This includes full- and part- time faculty, full- and part-time classified staff or all administrators.  This does not include student employees or temporary staff.

·         You must use this software for college-related activities.

·         You must own or lease the computer on which the software is to be installed.

·         You are eligible to obtain one copy only of each of the specified software applications.

·         The software can be installed on one computer only.  This can be a desktop computer or a laptop computer.  Installation on multiple computers is not permitted under this agreement.

·         You must sign the agreement between you and the college that identifies the responsibilities of using the software.

How can I get Microsoft software for home use?

·         Access the Microsoft Campus Agreement Professional Home Use form from the Information Technology home page.

·         Fill out the personal information on the top of the form.

·         Carefully read the terms of the agreement.

·         Select the software you would like to obtain from the list on the bottom of the form.

·         Print the form by using the print feature of your browser.

·         Sign and date the agreement.

·         Send the signed form to Information Technology, Customer Service C305B.  Allow 48 hours for processing please.

What is the cost of the software?

·         The cost is determined by the number of CDs required for the complete duplication of the software application.

·         At this time there is no cost to obtain software covered under this agreement. FIT reserves the right to amend this agreement as necessary to cover administrative, licensing and duplication costs.

·         All applications are duplicated by the entire set of CDs.  The agreement does not provide for partial copy of software applications.

Once I have submitted my request to Information Technology, what can I expect?

·         Information Technology will confirm your employment status with Human Resources.

·         Upon confirmation of employment, Information Technology will fill your order.

·         You will be notified when your software can be picked up. You must pick up your software in person with a valid FIT ID.

·         Once a signed agreement is received in Information Technology, the order is processed. Replacement for defective copies will be made by even exchange within 30 days. Any CDs that are marked or damaged by the customer will be ineligible for exchange.

Is there technical support available for home installations?

·         There can be no technical support available for home use of Microsoft products.

·         To determine if your home system can support these products, please refer to the Microsoft Campus Agreement page.

·         Select the software application you would like.  The hardware specifications for the package will be displayed.

·         Information Technology is not responsible for installations of software applications on home computers.

Can I continue to use these applications if I am no longer an active employee of the college?

·         Under the terms of the agreement, only active employees are eligible to take advantage of this agreement between Microsoft and FIT.

·         Upon termination from the college, you are no longer covered by the agreement and must remove the applications from your home computer.  Failure to do so puts you in violation of the agreement.

·         You will be responsible for any losses, financial or otherwise, incurred by FIT as a result of your use of these applications.
