FIT Email Forwarding to External Accounts Policy

The Fashion Institute of Technology provides all students, faculty and employees an official FIT email account. This email address is used by the College and its departments to send official messages. Webmail.fitnyc.edu is provided to faculty and staff to check FIT email on or off campus. The webmail service may be accessed from any Internet browser . In additional to Webmail.fitnyc.edu, you can check email through the email channel in MyFIT (http://myfit.fitnyc.edu) or through an email client (i.e Outlook, Entourage). Anyone seeking assistance on how access your mail or setup an email client should contact Customer Service.

If you prefer not to use the FIT provided email account, you may forward your email through webmail.fitnyc.edu to another external email account of your choosing (hotmail, yahoo, Gmail, etc). To do so, follow the instructions provided at http://www3.fitnyc.edu/techdevelopment/exchange/redirecting_from_exchange.pdf or contact the TDT for training. Customer Service will attempt to troubleshoot problems with forwarding, however, FIT does not officially support the forwarding of FIT mail to an external account and you might not receive forwarded email reliably.
