WINTER 2009 COURSES

FIT Winter Abroad courses are currently offered in:
1. India
2. Italy
3. Mexico
To
participate in a winter study abroad course, applicants must complete an online
application, receive approval by the faculty member teaching the course and make
timely payments of both the non-refundable application fee and first deposit. Non-FIT students
must also submit a transcript of all college work, a brief statement regarding
their interest in the course, and an academic recommendation to FIT's Office of
International Programs. Winter courses are offered for academic credit.

Prerequisite: IN 312 or Department Approval

India, the world's largest democracy, is a fascinating country with a rich
history, fabulous traditions, arts, cuisine, and people. A pluralistic,
multilingual, and multiethnic society, India is also home to a diversity of
wildlife in a variety of protected habitats. Four major world religions,
Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism originated here. India plays a
significant role in the international trade of textile and garments and an
increasing importance in South Asian fashion.
