Sarabande Books - Kathryn A. Morton Prize in Poetry
Provides an award for the best poetry submission. The
prize consists of a $2,000 cash award, publication of a full-length

Mary McCarty Prize in Short Fiction

Urban Glass (Brooklyn, NY). Pat and Alan Symonds Scholarships
For applicants with less than 10 years of glassworking experience wishing to take classes at Urban Glass. The criteria are excellence, potential, degree to which the applicant would benefit from the Scholarship, and financial need.
Applicants must have no formal gallery affiliation. Emerging artists are

New York Council for the Humanities. - Speakers in the Humanities Program - Brings the best in humanities scholarship to virtually every corner of New York.
Candidates with experience presenting their unique, well researched, humanities topic(s) to a broad range of audiences are encouraged to apply. Speakers receive $300 honoraria per lecture and $250 in travel expenses. For more information go to the New York Council for the Humanities website:

This is the eighteenth annual competition for gallery exhibition and awards. Devoted to the discovery, introduction and promotion of emerging artists, this exhibition will be held in March 2010 at the Limner Gallery and is open to all artists working in any media. There will be a $1000 cash award and $2400 in publication awards. Deadline:November 30.
