The School of Graduate Studies promotes excellence in the post baccalaureate study of business, art, and design. We are dedicated to advancing research in the creative industries and fostering collaboration between leading professionals, faculty and students.

Established nearly twenty-five years ago to support the curation and conservation of fashion and textiles, our inaugural program is now recognized internationally as the leader in this field. Since then, the School of Graduate Studies has grown to include a broad range of exceptional programs. Our Art Market program takes full advantage of our location in Chelsea, home to the world’s largest concentration of contemporary galleries. Our Cosmetics and Fragrance program benefits from our close ties to the leading companies in this sector. Our Global Fashion Management program with its sister schools, Institut Français de la Mode and Hong Kong Polytechnic, is a truly global experience for our students and our studio programs in Exhibition Design and Illustration boast a top tier faculty who are dedicated to our students’ creative, technical and career development.

FIT’s School of Graduate Studies offers a global classroom. Our students join us from numerous countries including Canada, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Spain, and from across the United States. This year our students have done research in Asia, Europe and South America. We have had three Fulbright Scholars in the past two years, and have hosted numerous international researchers through our Visiting Scholar’s program.
