Welcome to the Fine Arts Department.
-Message
from the Department Chair
FIT offers students a rich foundation in Fine Arts in its AAS program. As a Fine
Arts student, you will take courses in life and general drawing, figurative and
abstract painting, sculpture, printmaking and 2 and 3D design. As a graduate of
the AAS program, you will continue for a BFA in Fine Arts, Computer Graphics,
Visual Art Management or Toy Design.
In the BFA
(upper division), students use the skills developed in their first two years as
a basis for drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking that is conceptually
more challenging and developed in terms of personal vision. In the last
semester, students do an internship in an art related setting and a thesis
project in sculpture or painting.
Graduates
work in art related professions or obtain advanced degrees in fine arts, art
therapy and teaching certification for art.
