Relations disseminates information to the media on all
news and events pertaining to the college’s general
operations, curriculum, faculty and student
developments, alumni achievements, Educational
Foundation, and The Museum at FIT. Media Relations conducts
its activities proactively. It identifies and pitches
newsworthy stories, secures media interviews that position
FIT faculty and expert spokespersons. It also generates a stream
of press releases/advisories chronicling the college’s
numerous activities and accomplishments in support of
strategic priorities. |

In addition, we monitor media coverage and report to FIT’s internal community and the Board of Trustees on
significant press stories; coordinate and supervise all
media filming and photographing on campus; and approve all
press materials issued by external parties in conjunction
with events in partnership with FIT.
In the event of a crisis, Media Relations serves as FIT’s media liaison,
providing timely and accurate information to the press on
the situation at hand.
