Tips for Staying Healthy
1) Wash hands thoroughly and frequently with soap and water especially after
coughing and sneezing
2) Throw used tissue into garbage
3) If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your sleeve or elbow, not
your hands, to avoid spreading germs
4) Limit contact with others if you become sick
Taking a Proactive Approach
Keep in one easily accessible place:
1) A current list of all medications you and those you care for take
2) A list of all medical conditions you and love ones have
3) A list of doctors with phone numbers and addresses
4) A list of pertinent insurance information for yourself and others you care
for – e.g., insurance ID numbers, phone numbers
5) A health care proxy for yourself and those you care for – e.g., elderly
parent or relative (for more information on health care proxies, call EAP office
at #75600)
Do you?:
1) Have an emergency care plan or know who you would contact if someone you care
for (e.g., elder or child) become sick so that you won’t have to miss work?
Although this might change in the future, have some idea now, so you don’t have
to scramble at the last minute.
2) Have some extra food and water in your house if you can’t go out for a few
days?
Staying Calm:
1) Remember what you can and can’t control and take proactive approach.
2) If you become anxious or fearful, try meditating, or some relaxation and deep
breathing techniques. For assistance in learning how to do this, please call the
EAP at #75600.
3) Try to eat healthy, exercise and limit alcohol consumption, as you want to
keep your immune system as healthy as possible.
4) Call the EAP if additional help is needed.
