co-founded Starfish Junction Productions, a consumer and B2B
event planning, production and management company, in 2005.
Prior to starting Starfish,
he was Managing Partner for Integrated Direct -- a
full-service direct and interactive marketing agency on Long
Island. Earlier in his career, Calimano was Manager of
Affiliate Marketing, for LinkShare, and before that, an
Analyst in the Research Department for Gruppo, Levey & Co (GLC),
a boutique investment bank servicing businesses in the
direct marketing and e-commerce industries. He was Editor of
GLC’s annual Direct Marketing Mergers, Acquisitions &
Strategic Activities Yearbook, acclaimed as one of the best
resources for industry transaction activity.
Professor Calimano is active
in several industry associations and was selected as a
member of the 2005 Class of the “40 under 40” program, which
recognizes outstanding business achievers on Long Island
less than 40 years of age.
Professor Calimano teaches
the Introductory course (DM 311), and the senior capstone
course (DM 433).
