Direct
and Interactive Marketing

What is Direct Marking all about?

DM is a marketing channel which businesses use to communicate with consumers.  DM encourages the consumer to take action -- to respond to the marketer and order the product or ask for more information.

Direct Marketers develop ongoing relationships with their customers, so that they can learn more about their interests, serve them better, and earn their loyalty.  For example, Amazon.com (the on-line bookseller) maintains a profile on each customer, which allows it to suggest additional books, based on what it knows about their reading interests.

As a Direct Marketer you will address questions such as:

  • How do we identify our best customers and best prospects?
  • How should we contact them... via TV?... Direct Mail?...
  • What should we say to them... what should our creative strategy be?
  • What can we learn from them...
  • How can we track our customers' purchasing habits and interests so that we can serve them better?
