WITHDRAWAL PROCEDURE AT THE COUNSELING CENTER


The Counseling Center is the first stop for all matriculating students withdrawing from the College. The official withdrawal procedure applies to all full and part-time degree students withdrawing from ALL classes. Complying with this procedure will put students’ records in good order and will facilitate readmission to the Fashion Institute of Technology if they decide to return in the future or wish to have transcripts of grades sent elsewhere.

Simply come into the Counseling Center during office hours in order to fill out the necessary paper work.


REFUNDS

Withdrawal prior to first day of classes: 100% of tuition and fees**

Withdrawal prior to the second
week
of classes*: 75% of tuition and fees**

Withdrawal prior to the third week
of classes*: 50% of tuition and fees**

Withdrawal prior to the fourth week
of classes*: 25% of tuition and fees**

Thereafter: No refund

*The first week ends on Saturday regardless of which day of the week classes begin.

**The student health insurance fee is not refundable.


Students unable to come in-person should fax or mail withdrawal information to the Registrar’s office at (212) 217-3821 (call 217-3835 to verify receipt of the notice). This information should include:

1. Name
2. Social Security Number
3. Address/Telephone Number
4. Major/Semester
5. Reason for Leaving
6. Signature & Date

Also, dorm students should contact Residential Life (217-3900) informing them of your withdrawal and students receiving financial aid should contact the Financial Aid office (217-3571).
