In life-threatening situations, it is essential to find the quickest way to get help. The Counseling Center at FIT does not offer emergency coverage after business hours.

If the Counseling Center is closed and you have a genuine emergency, please read the following instructions:

• Your local Emergency Care Unit in connection with the nearest hospital OR

• 1-800-LIFENET – a free, confidential service of the Mental Health Association of New York City, Inc. in collaboration with the New York City Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Alcoholism Services.
