HFA 148: Fine Arts Portfolio


Supply List for first day of class:

·  18" x 24" all-purpose paper pad. (Strathmore/ Bristol) (white drawing or sketch paper)

·  18" x 24" Newsprint

·  Graphite Pencils (B2/ 4/ 6/)

·  Charcoal Pencil (medium or soft) Black + White

·  Vine charcoal (medium or soft)

·  Compressed charcoal (medium or soft).

Additional Supplies for remainder of course:

·  Additional paper: 1 or 2 sheets, 18" x 24", choose from gray, black, or another color. You may also use brown Kraft paper.

·  Pencils: medium to soft

·  Ebony pencil

·  Conte crayons: red/sepia, black, white, soft-B

·  Erasers: kneaded: art gum, pink pearl, and/or plastic

·  Pencil sharpener

·  Japanese bamboo brush

·  Chamois (for blending and shading)

·  Pack of kid's watercolors (smallest set)

·  Small container of black ink

·  Small tube of black acrylic (get the cheap one)

·  Small tube of cups for water

·  Something you can use as an pallet (paper or plastic plate etc...)

·  fixative or hairspray (to fix drawings - to be used in spray room or outdoors only)

·  Sharpie permanent ink pen, fine point

·  Ballpoint pen

·  Clipboard or foam board with clips: 18" x 24" (we will discuss)

Optional:

·  Watercolor crayons

·  Pastels

·  Acrylic paint (basic colors)

·  Brushes, water container, watercolor paper

·  Markers

·  Small set of colored pencils (oil or regular)
