Registration for an Online Course

Enrollment in an online course is a two-step process. All online courses are offered through the SUNY Learning Network (SLN).

FIRST, formally enroll in the course at FIT. See Registration and Payment.

SECOND, one week before the semester begins, go to www3.fitnyc.edu/distancelearning for information on accessing your course. You will be taking your course using either SLN/ANGEL (the new online course system) or SLN/Classic (the old online course system).

For SLN/ANGEL courses, go to fitnyc.sln.suny.edu. Login with your FIT username and password, go to www3.fitnyc.edu/it/login.

For SLN/Classic courses, if this is your first SLN/Classic course, go to www.sln.suny.edu_studentlogin.htm. Click on Students and then choose Create SLN account. This will test your computer compatibility. Next, choose Yes, create account, then SLN, then FIT. Complete the form, making sure to choose the correct section, and select Submit. Print out the confirmation screen.

If you are a returning SLN/Classic student, click on Students and enter your username and password. At the Commons, choose the Select/Change Course Access link. In the opened form, select FIT from the campus listing. Check off your course(s), making sure to choose the correct section and select Submit.

Online orientation information can be found by visiting www.fitnyc.edu/onlinecourses, and selecting the department hompage link.
