What is the
difference between regular FIT
College courses
and those offered by the CPS?
A College
(credit) course is an official college course registered
with the State University of New York, administered by a
specific academic school and department. Students take
tests, complete assignments, and receive grades with
instruction provided by FIT faculty.
CPS
(non-credit) courses provide information in short, intensive
seminar or workshop formats administered by the School of
Continuing and Professional Studies through its specialized
centers. Each course is taught by an expert in the topic.
What is a
certificate program?
A certificate
indicates that you've attained a high level of proficiency
and professional training in a particular field. It's a
credential that demonstrates you're able to meet the demands
of the industry and the consumer.
FIT offers
both non-credit and credit certificate programs. Non-credit
certificate programs are targeted to industry-experienced
professionals seeking career boosts or new possibilities.
Certificates are awarded based on completion of a fixed
number of Continuing Education Units (CEUs)- a nationally
recognized, uniform standard of measure of attainment in
non-credit education.
