What is the Cosmetics and
Fragrance Industry?
In the United States,
cosmetics and fragrances represent a $30 Billion industry driven by strong
demands for skin care, color cosmetic products, bath products, and fragrances.
It is a global industry which has redefined the way we think, feel, and act when
it comes to buying and using cosmetics and fragrances. It
is an extraordinary industry of niche markets. Continued growth is predicted for
this dynamic industry.
What do graduates do?
Graduates of the Cosmetics and
Fragrance Marketing program are now employed as marketing managers, product
developers, brand managers, sales managers, account executives, advertising
copywriters, and fragrance evaluators. Other areas of employment include
creative services, retail department managers, and retail store cosmetic and
fragrance buyers.

Who is eligible for this
program?
All A.A.S. graduates of the
Business and Technology Division and A.A.S. graduates of the Art and Design
Division are eligible to apply to the program. A.A.S. degree holders, including
those with Liberal Arts degrees earned at other accredited institutions are also
eligible to apply.
Where can I find an
application and when must I apply?
The Bachelor of Science degree
application for Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing is available in the Admissions
Office, Room C-139. In order to be eligible for Fall admission, you must submit
your application by February 1st. Applications submitted after the
February 1st deadline will be considered if there is space available
in the program. One section of 25 students is accepted into this program each
year.

What are my chances of
acceptance?
Each Fall we admit a new class
of 25 students. Your chances are very good if your cumulative grade point
average in your A.A.S. major is 2.7 or better. There are exceptions, so try
anyhow! Your background interest in the field and previous work experience can
carry a lot of weight in acceptance.
