recommendations to help you prepare.
The CET offers Angel training at all levels to address and support faculty needs.

Angel tips:
To prepare for the upgrade
please do the following by December 21st. These steps are precautions to
protect your course materials. Once the upgrade is complete, you should be
able to access Angel with all of your data intact.
- Back up your course by exporting your course and saving the
file in safe location just in case you have a problem. Do this
periodically after adding new materials and discard your old backup at
that time. Use this link for the tutorial on
saving your course.
- If you are using the Angel Gradebook, an added precaution would be to
save it as an Excel readable csv file. Click on this link to
Export your
Gradebook.
Feel free to contact jeffrey_riman@fitnyc.edu or lynn_kelly@fitnyc.edu if you have questions about the process.
For general Angel help, you may also contact the SUNY-SLN Helpdesk at
helpdesk@sln.suny.edu or at

Tutorial Documents
- Making your new courses visible on your Angel home page (PDF)
Your Fall 08 courses may already be in Angel but will not be visible
unless you know where to look. Follow this simple procedure to check.
- Enabling an Angel Course (PDF)
All new courses are created disabled, which means unavailable to the
students. Once your new course is ready to open, this tutorial shows you
how to make it available to the students.
- Saving Your Course for future use
(PDF)
It is important to save your course offline periodically. This will
protect your content for future use and also serve as a record of your
course activities.
- Angel Course Import to a New Angel Shell (PDF)
As the semester ends it is important to create a course archive and that
can be imported into your Summer or Fall courses. This 18 slide tutorial
will guide you through each step of the process. Download it for future
use.

Training Opportunities
- Introduction to Angel
This general information session will introduce you to Angel. A
demonstrative Power point presentation, followed by Q and A, provides
basic information. This event is not a skill-builder for faculty
currently using Angel, but designed for those seeking a general
overview. All faculty are welcome to attend. Please check our calendar for schedules.
- Angel Level One
This is a two hour hands on workshop for Blackboard, course studio and first time users. Participants will learn how to build a basic course, export Blackboard courses, add new content and use
the fundamental tools needed to support class assignments and activities. Contact Celia Baez at
X4064 to attend.
- Angel Level Two
This two hour workshop is for faculty who have taken Angel One and have used the system for at least two months. This is a great opportunity to discuss on going problems and learn how to integrate more advanced features including discussion boards, milestones, assignments, learning games and the grade book.
Contact Celia Baez at X4064 to attend.
- Specialized Angel Workshops
Click here to view the CET Calendar for this month's schedule. (Workshops are located in B502 unless otherwise indicated.)
