The Career Services Job Bank

 

 STUDENTS

If you are looking for a job while taking classes for credit at FIT, you will want to use the Career Services Job Bank (CSJB).  The CSJB is a valuable resource.  It contains hundreds of job postings from employers who are looking to hire FIT students.  The job listings are for full-time, part-time, freelance and temporary work.  Many of these opportunities may relate to your major and will help you develop and build upon your academic skills.  In addition, the CSJB contains other job opportunities including administrative work, baby sitting, and waitressing.  All work experience will help you to gain valuable work skills that employers look for and will make you more marketable in today’s competitive job market. 

You are encouraged to check the website daily for the latest job postings.  Each listing features a job title, a job description, a list of qualifications and skills that are required, a description of the company’s product or service, a salary, and information on how to contact the employer.

You will need to assess your skills and abilities to determine if you have the qualifications and skills to perform in the job.  If you are interested in applying for a position, it will be up to you to contact the employer by the method indicated in the job posting.

To be successful in finding employment you will need to develop strong presentation skills.  Employers will expect you to have a well written resume and cover letter, excellent interviewing skills and a portfolio of your best and most recent work when appropriate.  Career counselors are available to guide you through each step of the job search process.

You must be a currently registered student taking a class or classes for credit at FIT to utilize the CSJB. You will receive notification by email from Career Services when your account has been activated. ALUMNI

As a graduate of FIT, you are welcome to use the Career Services Job Bank (CSJB).  The CSJB contains hundreds of job postings from employers who are looking to hire alumni.  The job postings are for full-time, part-time, freelance and temporary work.  The CSJB is a free service and is available to you throughout your career.  It has proven to be a valuable resource to FIT alumni in their search to find employment.

To register for the CSJB, please go to: http://career-fit-csm.symplicity.com/students and select the “Alumni Registration” tab at the top of the page and complete the Registration Form. You will have access to the CSJB approximately 24 hours from the time you complete the registration process.
