The Faculty Senate Committee on Academic Standards
is the governance body responsible for the following:

To determine academic standards, to recommend
for faculty action any major modification, and to supervise their
implementation.

To recommend candidates for academic honors.

To adjudicate all individual student problems
of academic record such as indices below 2.0, grade appeals and appeals
concerning credit loans and eligibility for graduation.

To coordinate the activities of the
departmental Academic Standards Committee.
The membership of the committee is as follows:
-
Eight elected members of the faculty, with two
from each division.
-
One part-time faculty member, elected at large.
-
An alternate elected at large.
-
Administrative Head of Student Affairs
Division.
-
Person responsible for coordinating the
College-Wide Program on Academic Advisement (non-voting).
