ABOUT US
Impossibly Familiar is the culmination of a year-long curatorial group project organized by FIT’s Art Market: Principles and Practices Master of Arts graduating class of 2007. Over the course of two semesters, students are responsible for all aspects of the art show – choosing the theme, planning the installation, selecting the artists, finding and renting a space, drafting loan forms, mounting the show, manning the space, and designing and producing the catalog, cards, and website. By allowing the students to do the legwork and make their own decisions, FIT’s program offers the hands-on, real-world experience, knowledge, and skills needed for professional careers in the art market.
