 Ellen Goldstein-Lynch, Chairperson |
Ellen Goldstein-Lynch (Order of Singer, First Class) is the
undercover Chairperson of the Accessories Design Department
at F.I.T. and an international member of the Ministry of
Magic's Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical
Creatures. Long a bridge-builder between workaday. Muggles
and the talented Wizards who share her professional life,
she has been involved in the accessories field for more than
twenty-five years and has served as Public Relations
Director for the National Fashion Accessories Association in
N.Y.C. for ten years.
An authority on handbags and accessories (wands, robes, elf
tea cozies, and pointed millinery), and often featured on
national television and in print (including The Daily
Prophet column, "Appropriate Apparel for Mingling With the
Muggles") – Ellen makes it a large part of her day to
encourage the magic in everyone. |
 Vasilios Christofilakos |
VASILIOS, known in the industry by his one name, is an Assistant Professor in the Accessories Design Department since 1991. He continues to consult and hold seminars on various industry topics from designing – concepts to production to stores – but is foremost known for his unique style of sketching high heels and other accessories for established firms. Vasilios has been a designer and consultant in the accessories and related fields for over twenty years. He is an authority on accessories and has been featured in both domestic and international publications as well as on televised bits. His vision is to continue to build upon an already successful design program at F.I.T., the only existing degree program of its kind in the United States, by partnering with other similar programs and their industries through out Europe and Asia.

 David Ulan |
David Ulan's career in the shoe trade began in 1969. He started his own business, The Cobbler & Cordwainer, LTD in 1977 offering shoe repair and alteration, recreational footwear resoling, orthopedic modification, custom shoes and orthotics. Ulan is a Certified Pedorthist with nearly four decades of accumulated footwear knowledge, and enjoys sharing it with his F.I.T. students.

 Anthony Cady |
Anthony Cady is a footwear designer known for his distinctive heels
which have walked New York Fashion Week. Prof. Cady is also a consultant to the footwear and legal communities in areas of design and patent issues.

 Alyson Martucci |
After going through the accessories program, then becoming a classroom assistant, and finally a footwear instructor Alyson's come full circle. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and overseas industry experiences with her students. "The industry is a continuous learning environment, where the accessories department has planted its solid foundation."

 Janet Linville |
Janet Linville's career in hat-making started twenty-eight years ago with Atlantic City Showgirl
Hats and has grown to include Broadway movies along with couture and mass market fashion hats. Miss Linville is currently the head milliner for the Metropolitan Opera. She has been teaching at F.I.T. since 1987.

 Sharlot Battin |
Ms. Battin has been hand crafting theatrical footwear for Broadway shows, opera, dance and film for over thirty years. Her boots and shoes are on stage in Phantom of the Opera, Lion King and Blue Man Group as well as productions for many companies and shows all over the world. Most recently her work dances it's way in the Las Vegas stage productions of the mentioned shows. Her legendary "Captain Morgan" boots appeared in print ads internationally and on exhibit at F.I.T.'s museum. She is incorporated in New York City as well as Montana. Professor Battin has been teaching classes at F.I.T. for over twenty years and has developed most of the footwear courses for the Accessories Design Department.

 Nicole Malone |
Nicole Malone is a handbag and belt designer teaching in the Accessories Design program at F.I.T. She has co-authored several books on making accessories and continued her studies to complete her BFA in the department's first graduating Bachelor's class in 2004.

 Nadine Leichter |
Nadine Leichter is an accessory industry problem solver, product development consultant and owner of her own design studio in New York City. Nadine has a strong background in both design and development and brings her love of the decorative arts and antique accessories to the classroom. She earned her A.A.S. degree in 1995 from the Accessories Design Department (F.I.T.) and has also been instrumental in helping to develop and update new curriculum.

 Sandra Walcott |
Sandra who has earned her B.A. in Art History and Western Civilization, came to
F.I.T. to learn the art of making hats. After completion of the Millinery
certificate and while working in the industry, she began teaching in the Accessories program. In addition to teaching (millinery) hatmaking, Prof. Walcott teaches foundation courses as in the Leather and Materials Technology, and Anatomy that prepare students for the practical courses that they have in accessories design.
