TWO ITM MAJORS RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIPS
ITM is proud to announce that the Warnaco Scholarship Selection
Committee has chosen
Miho Chung and
Kerstin Charlotte Wendel
as recipients of the 2010-2011
The Warnaco Group, Inc. Scholarships. The judges were
impressed with the successful scholarship recipients, noting the
professionalism, substance, and maturity in their oral and
written presentations and humility in recognizing that they
could do more to further their contribution to industry and the
global community.The program is especially thankful to
Warnaco and its dedicated employees for providing extra funding
to ensure that this year’s selection would be possible despite
the effects of last year’s global economic downturn on endowed
scholarships. |

Practicum Scholarships Awarded
THREE INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND MARKETING
(ITM) MAJORS RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIPS
We are pleased to announce that the Scholarship Selection
Committee comprised of donor Sara Mayes, President of
Gemini Shippers
Association and ITM advisory board member and lifetime
achievement awardee, Nick Barratt, outstanding ITM alumnus and
advisory board member, and Amanda Barlow, Manager of United
States Council for International Business as well as exceptional
ITM alumna and faculty member, have chosen
Kerstin Charlotte Wendel,
Alexis Feldman, and
Miho Chung as the
recipients of the Gemini Shippers
ITM Practicum Scholarship to
Shanghai, China in January 2011.
I hope that you will all join us in congratulating Charlotte,
Alexis and Miho as ITM’s new Gemini Shippers Association
practicum scholars.

ITM INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY at

Theory
Women's Division

The product
development team works directly between the design and
production teams as well as side by side with merchandising and
fabric. This is for Theory Women’s division only.
This position is available May 1st.
$35.00/day stipend. Full Time position available.
The intern will assist my team with the following:
• Develop trims each season and order trims for sales samples
• Passing patterns, sketch details, stitch details and cut
tickets to factories to make prototypes and sales samples.
• Pass development swatch ideas to factories to submit
embellishment trials.
• Request fabric from fabric dept and physically pass to
factories to make show samples.
• Request all sample trims required for show samples and pass to
factories
• Track, receive and distribute show samples.
• Update delivery tracking info for show samples.
• Issue Purchase order for sales samples and track all
development sampling
• Create trim boards and reference books for domestic and
overseas counterparts.
• Answer daily correspondence pertaining to all of the above
functions

2010 TALENT SHOW & AUCTION
ITSA is hosting its 2010 fundraiser talent show and auction on
Thursday, April 22nd, 2010 in FIT's Katie Murphy Amphitheater at
6:30p.m., Show begins at 7:00p.m. It is a MUST-SEE show,
consisting of dancers, singers, musicians, comedians and enter
our raffles for the chance to win concert tickets, designer
sunglasses, gift cards and much more!!. So spread the
word, bring your friends and come support ITSA by attending the
show.
Tickets are $7.00 and available through Nicole in the ITM

2010 WARNACO SCHOLARSHIPS
APPLY NOW BEFORE April 23, 2010 DEADLINE
Two $4,350 tuition scholarships are available now to ITM majors
for the 2010- 2011 academic year. These scholarships were
generously endowed by
The Warnaco Inc. Group led by Mr. Joe Gromek, President &
Chief Executive Officer, and ITM’s 2006 Executive of the Year
honoree. The scholarships are for full-time ITM students with a
strong scholastic record and a record of volunteer work at ITM,
FIT, the industry and/or the community.
Complete
application must be hand
delivered in both hard copy and CD forms to the ITM
Administrative Assistant at room B-429 no later than 3 p.m. on
Friday, April 23, 2010.
The winners will be announced via the website by May 15, 2010. |

Africa Lecture on March 2, 2010. ITM students exude a level
